Learning Turkish has many advantages:

Turkish

is one of the top 10 largest spoken languages of thesphere of influence covers many areas of growing importance on the world stage, from the Balkans and Central Asia to the Middle East and North Africa.

Turkey

has close cultural and linguistic ties with Azerbaijan in the Caucasus as well as with Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia. Therefore, in addition to 72 million Turkish speakers in Turkey, tens of millions of Turkic speakers in Azerbaijan and the Central Asian republics speak similar dialects to Turkey's version of Turkish.

In Addition

Turkish is spoken in some parts of the Balkans, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, including but not limited to some regions of Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine, Russia, Cyprus, Iraq and Iran.

Turkey is the 6th most popular tourist destination in the world and last year alone 28.6 million foreign travelers visited the country. The best way to explore the rich and diverse culture of the country and to interact with locals is speaking Turkish. One can get by using English in major tourist areas, however, speaking Turkish will be very helpful, if one wants to venture off the beaten path and have a better understanding of the culture.

The Turkish Community

in the U.S. has been growing very fast in the last 10 years. This has resulted in stronger ties between Turkey and America, and the increased importance of the Turkish language within the U.S.

Finally, Turkish is phonetic and very regular. It is a fun language to study. Many people decide to learn Turkish because of its distinct and fun structure.
